September Recipe Challenge...

I hope everyone is having a safe Labor Day Weekend! It's a quiet one around here. College football is back (Fight On! ✌), after a "non-soon" here in our part of Arizona, we've been hoping for a little bit of rain.

****Edited 09-04-23---I just realized that I linked this to the wrong kit, the correct link is below**

Marisa at DigitalScrapbook.com put up the Recipe Challenge for September (she lists the pieces needed, and you design around that). Here is my end results:

You can get my part Here

I hope you all enjoy it, have a good rest of your weekend!

Life moves faster than we imagine...

I opened up my blog the other day, and I was honestly surprised to see that it was even still here lol. It's been almost 13 years since the last time I made a post. So much has changed, we've moved, moved some more, and then moved again. My kiddos have all grown up on me. One has gotten married and now has 2 of his own ( I am a VERY proud Mimi), another has graduated high school, and is almost 21, and this fall, our last two boys just started their Senior and Sophmore years. I guess time flies when you're having fun... but I really wish it would slow down just a little.

I recently found a wonderful website, DigitalScrapbook.com, and am working my way back into my scrapbooking, both making layouts of my kiddos, grandkids, and furbabies. I'm trying my hand at designing again...we'll see how that goes lol. But, in that vein, Marisa at DigitalScrapBook.com, put up a Mini Kit recipe challenge a few weeks ago, and I threw my hat in:

You can find it here. Please let me know if the link doesn't work.

I made this desktop with this kit:

I hope to post more often, and maybe throwing some designing in here and there.

Have a wonderful Friday, and a safe weekend!

**EDITED 5/29/09**
I wanted to thank you all for letting me know that the rar file isn't opening for some. I am in the process of trying to fix it, but because my computer is still out of commission and the original files are on there, it's taking me a little longer than I would like. If you download He's All Boy and have trouble opening it, please email me or leave a comment, and I will either email you back or leave a comment on your blog, along with posting it here, that the link and files have been fixed.
Thank you for bearing with me, and thank you again for letting me know there's a problem, I really appreciate it!!!
Good Evening all!
Hope everyone is having a good evening! It was a beautiful day here, high 70's - low 80's! I spent my evening working on yard work at my grandma's house.
Tonight I have for you the 3rd kit in a series that 3s_Enough and I are doing for our kids. The first was Brianna's Butterflies, then It's A Girl Thing, and now we have He's All Boy. It's a kind of grungy boy kit, but should be versatile enough to use for the tom-boys in your life also.
This kit consists of 19 papers, and 42 elements. The download is in 2 parts, one part here on my blog and the other is at Midnight Scrapping. You can click HERE to go to 3s_enough's Midnight Scrapping to pick up the part she has there.
Here's a preview of all the elements:

A full preview of the papers:

Here is what I'm giving here on my blog:

Click on either preview to download.
I'm sorry I don't have any layouts to share with you using this kit. I haven't gotten much chance to sit down and work on any.
I think I'm going to go for the evening, have a great night!
Hugs,
Michele

Holiday Traditions Add-on and a layout

Hi all!! Yesterday was Nathan's First Birthday!!! I can't believe he's one already, it seems like just yesterday he was born and we were bringing him home. We didn't really do much. We're going to have cake and family over next weekend, to space out a little bit from Christmas. I put together this lay out of his first year:

The template is from my friend 3s_enough at Midnight Scrapping, it's her template #142, although I did add a picture space to get all the photos in that I wanted. The paper in the background is from Ashalee Wall Design's Dirt kit.

I made a few extra word art as an add-on to the collaboration kit that I did with 3s_enough:

I did 3 additional word art, each one is in done in both silver and gold. If you'd like these, click on the preview to download. I occasionally paste the wrong link in, so if you have any trouble with the link please email me at shelemcbee at msn dot com.

You can find the previews and download links to our Holiday Traditions kit here for Part 1 and here for Part 2. 3s_enough will also be releasing an add-on on her blog, I'll add the link and preview for that when she does.

I think I'm off for the night, Nathan is sleeping soundly, now I just need to get Zack to bed. Have a good night!!

Hugs,
Michele

Another Word art....

Good Afternoon!! I only have a few minutes before I head out to get Bri off the bus, but wanted to put this up before I forget...

I'm still playing with the papers on the new mini-kit I've been putting together, it's called Brianna's Butterflies. I was a little burned out on that, so I started playing with this word art....

I started with just the square one, but wasn't sure I liked it, so came up with the oval one too. I zipped them both together in one file, you download them here.
I hope you like them, and can use them!

Have a good day!
Hugs,
Michele

Nathan news, and I made a word art.....

Nathan got his second tooth in!! Finally....LOL. He's been struggling with this one for about 2 weeks now, and it finally broke through a few days ago. Now you're really in trouble if he manages to get your fingers in his mouth.

I've really been struggling with the new kit I've been trying to get done. Every time I think I'm done, I decide I don't like this or that, I think I've changed how the papers look like 5 times now...lol. I think my problem is, that since I'm still learning how to make the kits, I have to rely on several different designers CU friendly products, and get frustrated with my lack of knowledge and experience. I know it will come with time and practice, but patience has never been one of my strong points....

I did get the word art made that I've been playing around with for the last few days. Anyone with small children, will probably agree with this......
My Zack and Dustin definitely fall into this category. If you can use this, you can download it here.
The fonts I used are Hurry Up and Austrailian Sunrise (although I modified it a bit to make it come out the way I wanted).
Let me know what you think of it, your comments about my work is always greatly appreciated, good or bad....

Have a wonderful evening, I think I'm off for the night. Hopefully I'll get motivated to get some pages done one evening soon. I'm still trying to find all the credits for the pages I have done in the past, so I have sooo many that I don't yet want to post because I can't give proper credit.

Hope everyone has a great night!!
Hugs,
Michele

Hi everyone, I finally finished my new kit!

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. I've been trying to get my new mini-kit finished. I was a little stumped on what to put in it, so it too me a lot longer to put this one together than it did my last one.

Bri only has 1 more day until she starts kindergarten, and she is soooo excited. We met her teacher briefly last Friday, and tomorrow is her back to school night (why they call it night when it starts at 2pm is beyond me.) and she's looking forward to seeing her teacher again. Every one she sees, she tells them that her teachers' name is Miss Twiss. I'll be taking lots of pictures on Thursday for her first day, so be prepared....lol

Like I mentioned, I finished my new mini-kit (as I get better, I hope to be able to put together bigger kits, but it may take me awhile). I'm not sure I like it as well as my first one, but here's the preview for Trouble:

Click on preview to download

And here's the two LO's I made of Zack in the t-shirt that inspired it...

The template I used is from Renae, it's Template 4. It actually has a lot more details such as flowers and borders, but they didn't look right with my little trouble maker. The word art is from Elegant Word Art by Bethany, you can find this word art here. The papers are by me.

This one is a scattering of 2 of the papers and some elements from my kit.

I hope you can find some use for my new kit for the trouble makers in your life!

Hope you all have a great night!

Hugs,

Michele

My first Mini-Kit...

I finally am feeling brave enough to share this! I finished it the other day, and did the last fixing last night. It's my first mini-kit, called Little Brown Puppy. I made based on a shirt my grandson had on in a picture, and I didn't have anything in my "stash" that I wanted to use with it, so I made my own....

Here's a preview:

(drop shadow for the preview only)

Click on Preview to download

This has 4 papers, 3 frames, and 6 elements. I hope you can find a use for it! Please let me know what you think of it.

Thank you to Renae for encouraging me to make this!!!

I'll be back to post more later...

Hugs,

Michele
