Does it ever stop?

And off we go with round 3....

Had to take Nathan back to the doc again today, because he started getting really fussy Saturday, and last night was a very long night. He was also pulling at his ears....again. So off we went, and he has another double ear infection. He just finished his antibiotics from the one we went in for on the 16th, so evidently they didn't do any good. The good news is he isn't running a temp, but the bad news is that he was up fussing about every 45min starting at about 1am. So needless to say, at this point I'm running on empty.

I feel like such a bad mom, I have all the pictures from Bri's birthday party on my computer, but haven't gotten a chance to fix them so I can upload them here. Hopefully I'll get that done tomorrow evening. Nathan has his eye appointment in the morning to have his tear duct checked, so hopefully all goes well there. He (of course) hasn't had any problems with it since I made the appointment, but I guess I'll have it checked anyway, because with the way my luck runs, I cancel it and his eye will get all goopy again.

I did get a few layouts done that I would like to share. They're made from scanned pictures that are my grandma's taken in the 1940's.

This first one is the pictures taken when my grandparents graduated from high school. Both the kit and template I used are made by Renae, it's her template #38, and the ribbons and papers (which I recolored to match the pictures) are from her kit Nature's Gift.

This one from pictures that were taken just before my uncle left to fight in WWII, so year is approximate, my grandma couldn't remember exactly what year it was. The kit and template I used for this one are both from Renae also. It's her template #42, and the mats and papers are from her kit The Humid South.

I'm in the middle of working on a LO for Brianna's birthday, I'm using templates from 3s_enough over at Midnight Scrapping. I hope to have it done sometime tomorrow and post it along with the birthday pictures I've promised. For now though, I think I'm off to bed while Nathan is still sleeping comfortably. If tonight is anything like the last few, he'll sleep good till about midnight or 1am, then it's in fits until about 4. Have a good evening!

Hugs,

Michele

Here we go again....

Well we were starting to get better. Brianna's ear infection has cleared up, Zack is walking allot better, hardly a limp at all. Nathan on the other hand.... He started getting fussy yesterday afternoon, when he woke up from his nap about 4pm, dad went to pick him up (I was headed out the door for Dustin's parent-teacher-student conference), and he had thrown up all over his bed. Some how he managed to only get it on his arms, none on his clothes. He threw up again when I was feeding him his dinner, and then as he was drinking his bottle around 8pm, he lost about 6oz of the 7oz he just ate. He felt really warm, and this afternoon (hasn't thrown up again thankfully) his temp was up to 101.4, and he's been tugging on his ear since yesterday. So off to the doctors office (again), the nurses stop me in the hall to ask about the other kids, if that gives you any idea how often we've been there in the last month. His temp had only gone down a degree from when I gave him some Tylenol 1 1/2hrs before going in. The doc checked his ears, and sure enough, his right ear drum was red and bulging (as the doc put it) again. This is his 2nd ear infection in the last month, and we're barely into cold season. I'm really hoping that this round of antibiotics clears every thing up, and it doesn't come back.

On a brighter note, Brianna has been estactic all day long, because she finally has a loose tooth! She's wiggled the darn thing so much today, that she was saying it hurt a little bit ago. I finally told her to leave it alone, and it would stop hurting. Now we just have to play to waiting game for it to come out.

I finally got a LO of Zack's birthday scrapped...it's only taken me 6months...lol

The template I used is from JustRenae, it's her template 56, the paper I made using a paint stroke overlay by Deb over at The Scrappin' Cop.

This one is one I made of Nathan, he was just hanging out while the bigger kids played at the park...

The template I used for this one is from 3s_enough at Midnight Scrapping, it's her LS template #087. The paper I made using another one of Deb's overlays, you can find that one here.

There is no school tomorrow, so counting to 2 kiddos I babysit, I will have 6 children in my house tomorrow until my mom comes to get 3 of my 4 for the day. So I think I'm going to head off to bed, so I can try and be half way awake and coherent when the 2 get dropped off dark and early at 6:15am. Have a wonderful night!

Michele

Today is....

Miss Bri's Birthday!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my princess! She's been waiting for today for the last week, everyday she's asked is it my birthday yet? Since her birthday is on a Monday, we won't be having her party till this weekend, but she seems ok with that. I wanted to share the LO I made from her newborn pictures with you. Bri was born 5 1/2 weeks early, but weighed just over 7lbs, they told me if she's have went to term, she would have been close to 10lbs!! Even for as big as she was, she had the typical problems of any preemie...was put on oxygen within a hour of birth, trouble coordinating her breathing while eating, and various other things. She spent a week in the nursery because she couldn't maintain her blood sugar (it was only 13 when she was born), kept forgetting to breathe, and had a bad case of jaundice. I had her home a week, and while going from my mom's to my grandma's, she stopped breathing completely, so she got her first ambulance ride (I should say rides) to our local ER, then when they were going to send her home with just an apnea monitor, she stopped breathing again and was sent to Children's hospital for a week. She had a virus similar to croup. Thankfully she's grown into a very healthy little girl.

But here is my LO:

The template is JustRenae's template 8 and word art by JustRenae ; Paper from Baby Elizabeth by Meryl Bartho at DSP; Font A Yummy Apology.

Nathan is ready for a nap, so I'm off for now.

Have good day,

Michele

Today

My little Nathan is 9 months old!! I can't believe how fast time has gone by! He's crawling and pulling himself up on everything, and we have recently discovered that he LOVES graham crackers and club crackers. He is also trying to drink from a "big" cup. Whenever Zack leaves his where Nathan can reach it, Nathan grabs it and has a taste of whatever is in it. I put together this LO of Nathan this morning:

The template I used is courtesy of Just Renae, it's her Template #46. The paper I made using an overlay by Gunhild Storeide and Gloria at Moo Too Designs.

I'm off to finish getting my grocery list together so I can go brave the Friday crowd at Wal-mart. Need to get my grocery shopping done, go birthday present hunting for the birthday party we are going to this weekend. Happy belated birthday wishes to you Ryan!!

Have a good day and a great weekend, if I don't get back to post this weekend.

Hugs,

Michele

I'm on a roll...

I was bit by the scrappin' bug this evening, and sat down and made 2 pages this evening!

This first one is of Nathan and big brother Dustin. I don't often get pictures of Dustin, because he always seems to be somewhere other than where I am with the camera. He was trying to help cheer Nathan up during one of his bad moments with his teeth a few weeks ago, by giving him a shoulder ride. Poor little dude was so tired that all he would do when Dustin tickled his feet was smile and usually he laughs this big belly laugh...

The template is by 3s_enough at Midnight Scrapping, it's Landscape (LS) Template #8; the word art is from Kim over at Kim's Scrappin'; and the papers are by ME ;o) (I'll get the hang of this designing thing yet...lol).

And next I FINALLY got a few of the pictures scrapped of Bri's first day of school. She's only been in school almost a month and a half.....(told you I was slackin' on getting my LO's put together)

Both the template and papers & elements are from Renae. The template is her Template #26; and the Kit I used is her My Precious Zoey.

I don't have much news today, everyone is still on the mend. Nathan almost has his 4th tooth in, you can just see the corner of it poking through on the bottom. And you can also see the little bumps of all the teeth that are just waiting to break through.

I think I'm going to head to bed, have a good night!

Hugs,

Michele

Hi everyone, I finally finished my new kit!

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. I've been trying to get my new mini-kit finished. I was a little stumped on what to put in it, so it too me a lot longer to put this one together than it did my last one.

Bri only has 1 more day until she starts kindergarten, and she is soooo excited. We met her teacher briefly last Friday, and tomorrow is her back to school night (why they call it night when it starts at 2pm is beyond me.) and she's looking forward to seeing her teacher again. Every one she sees, she tells them that her teachers' name is Miss Twiss. I'll be taking lots of pictures on Thursday for her first day, so be prepared....lol

Like I mentioned, I finished my new mini-kit (as I get better, I hope to be able to put together bigger kits, but it may take me awhile). I'm not sure I like it as well as my first one, but here's the preview for Trouble:

Click on preview to download

And here's the two LO's I made of Zack in the t-shirt that inspired it...

The template I used is from Renae, it's Template 4. It actually has a lot more details such as flowers and borders, but they didn't look right with my little trouble maker. The word art is from Elegant Word Art by Bethany, you can find this word art here. The papers are by me.

This one is a scattering of 2 of the papers and some elements from my kit.

I hope you can find some use for my new kit for the trouble makers in your life!

Hope you all have a great night!

Michele

The view out my window

yesterday and the day before, looked like this:

and that was at 9:30 in the morning!! Luckily the rain is moving out today and I actually see the sun this morning.

My LO for today is of Brianna's first 5yrs:

Credits for this go to Marlene at Sindiego's Scraps for her papers from her SweetHeart kit. The template is another of Renae's great templates, it's her Template 23. Renae also has a new kit that she's giving, it's in several parts, but here is the link to the first paper pack of Mimi's House.

Thank you to those who have downloaded my first kit, I hope you like it!!

I don't have much going today, so I'm going to see if I can get the mini-kit I started the other day finished. Hope everyone has at great day!!

My first papers...

I did it!! I made my first digital scrapbook papers the other night! I was quite proud of myself...lol

I've been meaning to put together a LO of Nathan and my handsome little grandson, Wesley. There's about 7 1/2 weeks between them, and it's been fun watching them grow. Here's the LO I made...

Thank you to Renae for her Template 14, it's great!!. I got the inspiration for the colors of the papers from Wesley's little undershirt. Thanks to Deb at The Scrappin' Cop for the overlays to help me make the papers.

Here's another LO I made with Renae's Template 14, it's of Miss Bri fishing with my dad. The papers are from Marlene over at Sindiego's Scraps made the papers, they're from her Gone Fishin' Kit.

I hope you like my lo's for today!

We didn't too too much today, getting into the back to school mode. Nathan is getting better at crawling everyday, he's starting to try and sit up by himself. He kind of leans to the side on his arm. He actually pulled himself up to stand the other day, but hasn't done it again. I'm off to finish getting the kids bedtime routine started, have a good night!

Michele

Only 5 more days

till Dustin goes back to school! He went in for his physical at the ungodly hour of 9:30 this morning. All is going well, the doc changed his ADHD medicine, but that's about it. After that we went to the grocery store, which was not fun. The last friday before most all of the kids go back to school and the place was packed!!! But at least it over and done with for another week, with the price of things, I have grocery shopping anymore.
That's about all we've done today, don't have much going today. The humidity is up and the barometer is dropping, so my head is killing me today. Darn sinuses anyway...lol

The LO I have today is of Zack. After a hard day playing he crashed on dad's lap...

Credits go to 3's_enough at Midnight Scrapping for her LandScape Template #3, and to Star Scraps for her Planes, Trains and Automobiles kit.

This one is of Nathan.....

The template is from JustRenae, it's her Template 15. The papers and buttons are from Jayden's Mamas' contribution to the HUGE collab kit Backyard Playground. There are over 40 designers that contribute to this kit, to many to list, but if you click on the link for Jayden's Mama, she has a list there of all the links to get this kit.

Hope everyone has a great day, I'm going to stop before blogger goes down for maintenance.

Hugs,

Michele

My 5 min

of quiet starts now....lol. I 9am, I've been up since about 6:30am with Nathan, and he just went down for a nap. Bri, Zack and daddy are all still alseep, and Dustin stayed at a friends house last night, so I'm gonna enjoy a little bit of quiet. Zack fell asleep about 7:30 last night, which isn't a bad time for him, but he kind of woke up about 9:30 and then Bri came out of her room and woke him up completely, so then he was up till almost 1am. I got him to go lay down with me about 12:30, so he was out by 1. Nathan of course was up about 3 to eat, then again about 6:30, so needless to say, I didn't get much sleep last night. So you'll have to excuse my ramblings this morning, I'm still working on my first cup of coffee, and the caffiene hasn't quite kicked in yet.

I have one LO now, may be back later tonight with another, not sure, today is lawn mowing day at my grandma's so I'll have to see how wore out I am... Atleast on the plus side it's only supposed to be in the mid 80's today.

But I digress, here's my LO:

Yes the colors are a little loud, but I didn't have any papers that would look good with the orange in Zack's shirt, so I used the orange and blue from his shirt. The Template is another great one from JustRenae, it's her Template 7, it was with one of the layers in her template that I was able to get the crumpled effect on the blue and green.

Well, I'm off for my day of mowing, need to finish getting Nathan's stuff together, and work on waking up the kids. Guess that will be the end of my 5 min...lol Have a wonderful day!

Hugs

I missed yesterday

because I usually sit down and post after Nathan goes to bed, but last night I ended up spending that time fixing my rocking chair. I have one of those glider rocking chairs that I got when Zack was about 10 months old. I'd gotten it after we rocked the one I had picked up at the Salvation Army to death. I would rock Zack to sleep for naps and bed time, and then after Nathan got here, I do the same for him. So needless to say, my rocker was well worn...lol. I had actually had to fix it a few months ago when on of the glider bearing broke, so I took the footstool apart and used the pieces from it to fix it. Well I had another one break yesterday morning, and after having a hard time getting Nathan down for his afternoon nap, I sat down last night and fixed it. And by the time my "help" (and I use the term loosely) and I finished, I wasn't up to posting...lol. Trying to get anything done with a 3yr old and a 5yr old trying to help is nearly impossible, and more help than I really wanted ;o)

My LO today is using Renae's new kit, Bold Summer. I love the colors in it. The Template is hers also, it's Template 18.

Renae has also just release a new kit, called The Humid South, that is just beautiful.

Hope everyone has a great day, it's a little humid today, hopefully we'll get some rain!

Hugs,

Michele

104 degrees

Is HOT!! That was the official high recorded in at DIA today. You know it hot when the kids don't even ask to swimming...lol It's now just after 9pm and still in the 80's.
Dustin and Bri are having a fun evening, grandma took them to the Tractor Pull that going on at the local fair. It's their payment for 2 weeks of yard work. Zack unfortunately didn't get to go, grandma thought it may too loud for him, that and we weren't sure if he would sit still through it all.
I don't have too much to talk about today, as we didn't do much because of the heat. But I have a few layouts for you...
This first one is of Zack's first home haircut with the clippers. He was asking for a haircut, he would hold a piece of hair up and say "I need haircut dad", here is part of the process with a picture of what his hair looked like before and how short it was when all was finished:

Credits go to: Lauren Bavin at DSP for the paper and mat, they're from her Family Kit; Midnight Scrapping for her Landscape Template #5; the font is planet benson 2 for the title and ariel for the date.

The next one is of Nathan as he was working on his crawling skills, he's still working on them now, but has gotten a lot quicker over the last few weeks:

The papers and alpha are from Animal Friends by Josie Stewart at Digital Kits; the font I used on the rest is Comic sans. The template is another great work by JustRenae, it's her Template 18.

Well I'm off for the evening, hope everyone has a good night!!

Hugs,

Michele

I had a post...

I sat here for the last 20 min or so typing out a post, telling about the heat, our afternoon at the pool yesterday, putting in my pictures, lay outs and credits, and I published it. Then I went in to change some spacing, saved it as a draft after I previewed it. And then dummy me, hit the delete button, and even after it asked if I was sure I wanted to delete it, I still clicked the button, and while I thought I was deleting my draft, I deleted the whole darn thing....DUH.

Here is the picture I had on there of Mr. Nathan splashing in his "boat". He loves the water so much, and in his efforts to reach it, almost tips his little boat over...lolMy LO's for today are of of Zack and Bri blowing bubbles on the deck a few weeks ago.

The template is by JustRenae, it's template 27 which you can get here. The papers are from Boy Collection by Amanda Rockwell, I'm not completely certain where I picked it up, it was one of the first kits I found when I started digiscrapping 3 years ago, so if anyone knows, please leave me a comment and let me know so I can add it on here. The font is bubble 1 which I picked up from TypeNow.

Now for Miss Bri's...

This is another one from JustRenae, it's Template 28. The papers are from a new mini-kit from Scripity Scrap Designs . I saw the colors in it and imediately thought of these pictures! The font is A yummy apology.

Now, I'm going to go and try to work on some new scrapbook pages. Have a good evening!

Hugs,

Michele

Off by a day...

I have to edit what I said yesterday about the heat record...it's been so hot my brain is fried...lol Today is the day we tie the record with 18 days, and tomorrow we'll break it. And then friday we're supposed to be at 101. Thankfully, they got the pool fixed, was going to go swimming yesterday but someone vandalised (sp?) the heating and fitration system, again, so they just got that fixed last night.
There's not too much going on around here today, just too darn hot. The only thing I've managed to do is go to the grocery store. Do you have this problem with your Super Wal-mart? Ours is always busy, and today they had 5 of the 8 "express" lanes open and only like 4 regular lanes, and those all had atleast 3 people in line behind the person that was being check out. Somedays I spend more time standing in line there, than I do shopping!

I have 2 layouts today, the first is of Zachary;

Credits for this go to: StarScraps for the background papers, they're from her Planes, Trains & Automobiles kit. The template is another wonderful one by JustRenae, it's her Template 6.

I'm in the process of making layouts that show all birthdays up to now, I just need to get Dustin's done. The only problem with his will be whether or not I have one from each birthday because anything before his 9th B-day I have to scan.

The next is of Dustin from his 12th birthday:Credits for this go to Meryl Bartho for her Album on a Page 1_QC. The papers and elements are from Birthday Dude by Marcee J. Duggar. Both of the kit and template can be found at DSP.

Thank you Renae for being so supportive of my venture into blogging!! Renae has a wonderful blog with lots of great templates and she has started making kits also! Her first one "Bold Summer" is just beautiful, I can't wait to use it. You can see her blog here.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!

First tooth...

Yeah!! Nathan's first tooth FINALLY broke though today! Hopefully it stays through now, and the gums don't go back over it, keep your fingers crossed. He's been sooo grumpy the last few days. I knew his gums were swollen, and we've been trying to keep oragel on them, although he makes the worst faces when I put it on his gums. I can't believe he'll be 7 months already this week.
The hot weather we've had the last 2 weeks hasn't helped with the teething process any. We've been above 90 for 16 days counting today, the old record for consecutive 90 degree days was set back in 1901, 18 days... We'll looking to break that, the lowest high the weather people are calling for this week is like 94, and it's supposed to be around 100 on thursday, friday and saturday. Yuck!
In honor of Nathan's first tooth, I'll share a LO of him today:

Credits for this go to Renae at JustRenae for Template 32, you can get it here, aren't her templates wonderful? The paper and elements are From Funky Town by Jamie Rousselle at DSP, although when I last checked the store there a few months ago I couldn't find her kit any longer. The word art is from http://www.dranet.blogspot.com/.

Also today I finally got all the papers turned in for Brianna's kindergarden registration, she starts Aug. 21, they've already said she'll get an afternoon class which is a good thing. If she doesn't get atleast 12 hours of sleep, she has trouble functioning. If she had gotten a morning one, she would have had to go to bed at like 7pm. I have never seen a child so excited about the first day of school...lol. Dustin isn't really looking forward to it, because he'll be going to a different school for just this year, haven't quite figured out the district's purpose behind that yet, but I'm sure they have one somewhere. I think Zack and Nathan are going to be lost with both of them gone.

Off to go check how clean the bedrooms have gotten.....

Where to start....

Hi all,

I've been thinking about doing this for awhile. I've been looking for an easier way to share the digital scrapbooking layouts that I make of my children and family, with my family and friends. Maybe this way it will be easier for friends and family to keep up with the ever changing world that is my children...lol

I have made so many layouts, that it's hard to decide where to start. This one is of lovely Brianna, putting up with the pictures taking that I seem to be forever doing. I never seem to go anywhere without my camera, especially if we go to the park. I think the one of off to the left is my new favorite picture of her :o)

The template that I used for this is from my wonderful friend Renae. It's Template 33, and you can find it here. The background paper and button are from It's All About Love collab freebie by Melothria at Digital Arts Cafe and you can get it here.

This probly isn't much of a first blog, but hopefully it will get better as I go.
Have a wonderful day!

September Recipe Challenge...
